Looking for Rental or Long-term House-sit
We are a retired couple relocating to Vancouver Island and looking for a house, condo, or apartment to rent, or possibly a long-term House-Sit. We have more-or-less retired from our happy careers of educator/organist, and patissier/Reiki practitioner.
We are healthy, active, able, and reliable, non-smoking seniors. We have a lifetime of experience taking good care of our own homes, gardens, ponds, pets, and even livestock. We're lucky to also possess strong manual/mechanical skills and stirling references.
Our housing needs are fairly basic. We need a small suite with one bedroom; perhaps a den; bathroom with a shower; some storage; full kitchen (dishwasher not a necessity). We would prefer in-suite laundry, and would enjoy a south facing balcony or yard access (we like to raise some of our own food). We both have drivers' licences with 20-year+ clear driving records but we do not have a car, so proximity to daily needs and/or bus service, or a provided car would be necessities.
Our monthly rental budget could extend to the $1,100 range but obviously something less expensive would be attractive. Our preferred location to rent is Downtown Ladysmith, but we would consider other locations on the bus route between there and Chemainus/Duncan. Our THIRD rental prefernece would be Nanaimo.
For a House-Sit, our location preferences would include almost anywhere on the Island (possibly beyond) if a car was available, and if not would have to be on a bus route.
